KINGMOOR PARK EXPERIENCING HIGHEST OCCUPANCY LEVELS
Kingmoor Park Properties Ltd has confirmed a surge in sales, lettings and development over the last 16 months at Kingmoor Park, Carlisle, Cumbria’s premier industrial estate.
Acting as sole letting agent Richard Percival, Director of Carigiet Cowen has let in excess of 115,000sqft of industrial space, the equivalent of more than two football pitches, in the last 12 months or so to a wide variety of companies including Coulton’s Bread, DPD/Geopost, Discovery Childcare, L & I Eaton Accident and Repair, Lakeland Bake and Hermes Parcelnet Ltd. In addition another 130,000sqft has been let on a temporary basis.
On the sales side over 61,000sqft of existing buildings has been sold including a modern 44,000sqft warehouse to Zoo Architectural on Kingmoor Park North and the former RAF 14MU Headquarters Building extending to 17,000sqft which has been sold to Story Homes who have just completed an extensive refurbishment to the building to create a new headquarters facility. Late 2014 also saw well known Carlisle company Thomas Graham move into their new 70,000sqft headquarters on Kingmoor Park Central.
Commenting, Tony Goddard, Chief Executive of Kingmoor Park said:
“This kind of overview of activity really hammers home the important role that Kingmoor Park plays in the economic well-being of the City. There are some interesting indicators including the opening of a new nursery which will be really useful of for employees on site and for residents on the nearby Crindledyke estate. It is also worth noting the growing cluster of distribution companies who have chosen Kingmoor Park as their Cumbrian base. This is a reflection of not only the site’s fantastic location adjacent to the M6 but also the wide variety of opportunities we are able to offer to incoming occupiers. There are already some major projects in the pipeline for 2015 including the marketing of a range of warehouse units and office buildings which are currently occupied by the Stobart Group in advance of their relocation to their new build facility at Carlisle Airport”
Richard Percival of Carigiet Cowen adds:
“Working closely with Tony and property manager Ross Nicolson we have seen a huge amount of activity over the last 18 months or so at Kingmoor Park which we have successfully translated into the sales and lettings noted above. At this moment in time occupancy levels are running at the highest levels experienced since Kingmoor Park Properties acquired the Estate in March 1999. Having said that, we are still able to accommodate a wide range of occupational requirements when they come forward. This will be further strengthened with additional stock becoming available later in the year when Stobart Group relocate from Brunthill Road, Kingstown to the airport. In fact within the last 10 days terms we have just been agreed terms for the letting of a refurbished 20,000 sqft warehouse at Kingmoor Park North which had previously let to CityLink ”
