GRANTS
There are two grant schemes which are now available in England:
1. Small Business Grant Fund
A £10,000 grant for any business, regardless of sector, that receives Small Business Rate Relief or Rural Rate Relief.
2. Retail, Hospitality, and Leisure Grant Fund
A £10,000 grant for businesses in retail, hospitality or leisure in premises with a rateable value of up to £15,000 ; this is directed at those businesses who do not qualify for small business rates relief
A £25,000 grant for businesses in retail, hospitality or leisure in premises with a rateable value of more than £15,000 but under £51,000
Please note that eligible recipients will receive one grant per property.
In Cumbria, district, borough and city councils are administering these grants.
Five of Cumbria’s six Local Authority areas are asking businesses to apply for the grants online. Carlisle City Council is taking a different approach, writing directly to eligible businesses.
