Carigiet Cowen sold the former Edinburgh Woollen Mill in December 2022 to M&L Richardson & Sons Ltd. The company operate a number of forecourts and SPAR stores in Cumbria and the Northeast of England.

It was announced earlier this year that the convenience store operation would be taking over the building with local building firm McKnight Builders renovating the premises on behalf of the landlords.
